PGT Trucking opened our first terminal in Laredo, Texas, in 1995, successfully operating in the Southwest for more than 25 years. Providing a regional base for more than 70 flatbed truck drivers, PGT Laredo has a drivers lounge, operations center and full-service maintenance facility powered by Penske Truck Leasing. Our office is located just three miles from the United States-Mexico border and only minutes from I-35, making it a central hub for any international shipments.

Laredo was founded in 1755 and quickly grew to support the increasing trade demands to and from Mexico. In 2023, Laredo was once again named the number one port for international trade in the U.S., with an estimated $24.6 billion in overall

trade going through the city. Laredo sits on the north bank of the Rio Grande River, directly across from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. With four international bridges, one railway bridge, and a proposed fifth bridge, the city is a bustling center for commerce. Laredo is also known for its rich Hispanic influence.

PGT Laredo is one of our busiest locations, and our Proud Professional flatbed truck drivers are often seen at the terminal performing their pre-trip inspections, going through securement checks, and saying hello to their dedicated operations team.

International Transportation Services

PGT Laredo supports our fleet of B1 truck drivers, skilled professionals who hold B1 visas, allowing them to transport their loads from customer to consignee without switching drivers or equipment at the border. By eliminating this transloading, PGT reduces the risk associated with international shipments, helping us to provide safe and secure service for our customers. Our flatbed truck drivers move around 4,000 cross-border loads annually, making PGT a leader in international transportation services. With our expertise, customers can rely on real-time satellite tracking updates, expedited customs clearance and warehousing partnerships to safely move their freight.

Bilingual Support

Like the city of Laredo, PGT has a culturally rich Hispanic background. PGT Laredo is a fully bilingual terminal, communicating in English and Spanish to support our flatbed truck drivers. We know that effective communication is based on understanding and respect, and all company messages are shared in multiple languages.

PGT’s flatbed truck drivers have a variety of freight to haul, including steel coils and sheets, building structures, graphite electrodes, piping and tubing, concrete slabs, and more. With our centralized location in Laredo, PGT can service our customers across multiple regions in the U.S. PGT Laredo has lanes going in all directions, providing freight transportation to places like Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, New York City, and Jacksonville, FL.

Growth in Laredo

Laredo has grown 42% since 2000, becoming one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. International trade continues to prosper, with Laredo recording a 12% year-over-year increase in total commerce. PGT is prepared to grow with the city, purchasing land in 2022 to build a custom logistics center. This new location will include a full-service operations facility, modern driver amenities and a truck maintenance shop. PGT broke ground on the 7.73-acre site in May 2023, which is located within the Pinnacle Industry Center. Our investment in property shows PGT’s commitment to the Laredo community, and we look forward to our long-term success in the area.
